Speaking of the blatant theft of ideas…the moment I saw these Valentine’s in the Paper Source catalog, I knew my girls would love to make them! And being totally broke a do-it-yourself-er I thought for sure we could round up the supplies to make these ourselves!

We had colored paper, google eyes, and a couple of helpful paper punches. I found a heart template here which I printed onto cardstock and then used that cut out as a guide for all the hearts. I also found this great set of mustache templates here which we also printed onto cardstock and cut out for tracing guides. {fyi…her blog is super cute so go with there a some spare time ’cause you’ll get sucked in!}

The pirate eye patches and swords we made ourselves and the rest is super self explanatory. And I don’t think that Paper Source will mind as they have sold out of their kits for these! Plus…it’s a super amazing idea!

The girls loved making these. They made each one specifically for each recipient…which makes them so chock full of love and spirit! And, if I do say so myself, my girls give Paper Source a run for its money!

And because I adore a sweet blur photo…
Now I’m off to convince Layla that taking chocolate pudding cups to her preschool Valentine’s Day party would be just as cool as personally decorated heart shaped, homemade sugar cookies. *sigh*
